Service Agreement & Terms

At Plymouth Electric LLC, we believe customers should know what to expect before work begins. The following terms explain our service rates, payment schedules, scheduling policies, and other important information in straightforward language.

By approving an estimate or authorizing Plymouth Electric LLC to perform work, you agree to these terms unless different terms are included in your project-specific proposal or contract.

Pricing & Service Minimums

Standard Service Calls

Our standard service rate is $180 per hour, with a two-hour minimum of $360.

The two-hour minimum applies even if the requested work is completed in less than two hours. Work beyond the initial two hours is billed based on the additional time required.

Materials, permits, equipment rentals, specialty equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related costs are additional unless specifically included in your estimate.

For projects with a defined scope of work, Plymouth Electric may provide a fixed-price estimate instead of hourly billing.

Payment Schedule

We use progress-payment schedules so that payments correspond with the work being completed.

Projects Under $6,000

50% — Start of Work

50% — Completion of Work

Projects of $6,000 or More

40% — Start of Work

30% — Rough Wiring Completion

30% — Finish Wiring Completion

Certain commercial projects, generators, special-order equipment, or projects requiring significant upfront material purchases may have a different payment schedule. Any different terms will be clearly stated in your proposal.

Progress payments are based on completion of Plymouth Electric's applicable stage of work and are not dependent upon completion of unrelated work by other contractors or trades.

Late Payments

We understand that invoices can occasionally be overlooked. If you have a question or concern regarding an invoice, please contact us as soon as possible.

Balances remaining unpaid for more than 30 days may be subject to a 2% monthly late charge, or the maximum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is less.

If an unpaid account requires formal collection or legal action, the customer may also be responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for reasonable costs associated with collection, including attorney's fees, court costs, filing fees, and collection expenses.

Business Hours

Our normal operating hours are:

Monday–Friday
7:00 AM–4:00 PM

We are generally closed Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays except for scheduled projects and available emergency service.

Because electrical work can involve inspections, utility coordination, emergency calls, weather, and unforeseen job conditions, scheduling and arrival times may occasionally change. We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of significant changes.

Emergency & After-Hours Service

Electrical problems don't always happen during business hours.

When an electrician is available, Plymouth Electric offers after-hours emergency service.

After-Hours Rate: $275/hour

Two-Hour Minimum: $550

Materials and other project-related costs are additional.

After-hours service is subject to electrician availability and is not guaranteed 24/7.

For an immediate life-safety emergency involving fire, smoke, electrical arcing, downed utility lines, or similar hazards, contact 911 and/or your electric utility first, as appropriate.

Estimates & Scope of Work

Our estimates are based on the information available when we evaluate your project.

Your estimate will describe the electrical work included in our price. Unless specifically stated otherwise, work performed by other trades—including drywall repair, plaster, painting, finish carpentry, excavation, landscaping, engineering, or similar restoration—is not included.

Approval of an estimate authorizes Plymouth Electric LLC to perform the work described in that estimate.

Changes & Additional Work

Construction and electrical projects sometimes change after work begins.

Customer-requested additions, changes to the original plans, unforeseen conditions, concealed electrical problems, existing code issues, or additional work required to properly complete the installation may result in additional charges.

Whenever practical, we will discuss significant additional work with you before proceeding.

Additional work may be authorized through a written change order, revised estimate, email, text message, or other written approval.

Existing & Concealed Conditions

We cannot always see what is behind a wall, above a ceiling, inside an existing electrical system, or underground before work begins.

Conditions such as damaged wiring, improper previous installations, inaccessible wiring, structural obstructions, water damage, hazardous materials, utility problems, or existing code violations may require additional work.

Plymouth Electric LLC is not responsible for concealed or pre-existing conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work began.

If we discover a significant problem, we will make reasonable efforts to explain the condition and available options before proceeding with additional work.

Permits & Inspections

When required and included within our scope, Plymouth Electric LLC will obtain applicable electrical permits and coordinate required electrical inspections.

Inspection dates and approval timelines are controlled by the local municipality or other authority having jurisdiction and therefore cannot be guaranteed by Plymouth Electric.

Customer-Supplied Fixtures & Equipment

We're happy to install customer-supplied fixtures and equipment when agreed upon in advance.

Customers are responsible for ensuring their products are correct, complete, undamaged, and appropriate for the intended installation.

Additional time required because of missing parts, damaged products, complicated assembly, incompatible equipment, manufacturer defects, or troubleshooting may result in additional labor charges.

Manufacturer warranties remain the responsibility of the product manufacturer or seller for equipment not supplied by Plymouth Electric.

Access & Jobsite Readiness

Customers are responsible for providing reasonable and safe access to the areas where work will be performed.

Electrical panels, equipment, attics, basements, crawlspaces, and other required work areas should be reasonably accessible when our electricians arrive.

Delays caused by unavailable access, incomplete work by other trades, unsafe conditions, or a jobsite that is not ready for scheduled electrical work may result in additional charges or rescheduling.

Our Workmanship

We stand behind our work.

If you believe there is an issue with electrical work performed by Plymouth Electric LLC, please contact us promptly and give us an opportunity to inspect it.

Our workmanship responsibility does not cover failures caused by manufacturer defects, customer-supplied equipment, misuse, water intrusion, utility problems, existing electrical systems, modifications made by others, physical damage, or work performed by another contractor.

Any specific written warranty included with your project proposal will take precedence over these general terms.

Protection of Your Property

Our electricians take reasonable precautions when working in your home or business.

Electrical installations sometimes require drilling, cutting, fishing wires, opening walls or ceilings, moving equipment, or accessing finished areas. Some minor cosmetic disturbance may be unavoidable.

Unless specifically included in your estimate, Plymouth Electric LLC does not provide drywall repair, plaster repair, painting, finish carpentry, landscaping, or other non-electrical restoration.

Project Delays

We make every reasonable effort to meet scheduled project dates.

However, electrical work can be affected by weather, inspections, utility companies, material availability, manufacturer delays, other contractors, customer changes, concealed conditions, emergencies, illness, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These circumstances may require us to adjust the project schedule.

Nonpayment & Suspension of Work

Required progress payments must remain current while a project is underway.

Plymouth Electric LLC may pause or suspend work when a required payment has not been made, when the jobsite is unsafe or inaccessible, or when conditions outside our control prevent us from properly performing the work.

Any resulting delay may extend the project's completion schedule.

Plymouth Electric LLC reserves all lawful rights and remedies available for collection of unpaid amounts.

Cancellations & Special-Order Materials

Please contact us as soon as possible if scheduled work needs to be canceled or postponed.

Special-order, custom, non-returnable, or project-specific materials already ordered for your project may remain the customer's financial responsibility to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these terms limits any cancellation rights provided to customers under applicable Massachusetts law.

Acceptance of Terms

These terms are intended to keep expectations clear and prevent misunderstandings.

By approving an estimate, signing a proposal or contract, requesting service, or authorizing Plymouth Electric LLC to begin work, you acknowledge these Service Agreement & Terms, except where applicable law requires additional documentation or different terms.

Project-specific proposals, contracts, and written change orders may contain additional terms. If a project-specific written agreement conflicts with these general terms, the project-specific agreement will control.
